Tarot tales from Newtown, Sydney, with a brief mention perhaps, of chai and other fascinating things.

In lieu of photos of my new office, I thought I'd show you a photo of where I'm parking my bicycle nowadays (at the corner of King & Bucknell Streets) and a photo of my new bicycle helmet. My bicycle enjoys the dappled shade of the courtyard just off King Street, and my bicycle helmet was handpainted by Inkwell Helmets in NYC. Hooray for tax-deductible tarot helmets!

I took some photos of my new office, but I decided I only wanted to put photos on the web when all the pictures are up on the wall. For now, the tapa cloth is up, the furniture is all in place (including a beautiful new wooden and glass cabinet to house all my tarot decks!), the crochet blankets are covering the seats and the vibe is cozy and welcoming.

Clients have been exclaiming how much they love the new room, and those who have been seeing me since my early tarot days (flashback to 2002 and a broom closet in a new-age shop with a curtain for a door) are particularly pleased!

In addition to my monthly Tarot Reading for the Collective, I have a couple more tarot tales out this month. I did a tarot reading for Taureans on Siobhan Rene's Tarotscopes. You can read my contribution, as well as other tarot readers' offerings about ALL the star signs on her website Siobhan's Mirror.
I met Siobhan at the Readers Studio in New York this year, and am very much enjoying being a part of her Tarotscopes.

I am still amazed at all that has come from my getting on that plane to New York this year. Who knew there were so many fascinating, lovely and powerful tarot readers doing unique and inspiring things in the world? Yay!

In the next day or so I'll be posting a piece called This is Not A Halloween Tarot Reading, dedicated to all those in the Southern Hemisphere who are celebrating Halloween this week, even though it's actually Beltane here. If you are in the mood for some pithy amusement, you'll be able to read it on my website. I'll also be announcing its presence in the ether on my Facebook page and Instagram account.

Tarot Card of the Month ~ The Seven of Swords

For those who are reading this newsletter for the first time, every month I talk about the tarot card that appears the most in the month's tarot readings. Even though the cards will always have individual significance, a commonly occurring card can also have a say about what's going on for the whole community.

Swords don't always have the best reputation, and when there are seven of them, we might be inclined to think that's just a few too many swords to contend with.

However the Swords take us to a place in ourselves that we have no choice but to face. Well we can choose to ignore what they show us, but then we just end up playing a good round of 'poor me' and end up driving people away. That's no fun! So what can the Seven of Swords bring us this month?

Seven can bring us the chance to take care with what we receive and what we give out. We may find ourselves being more wary then usual, and we may at times feel like we are walking on broken glass (apologies to Annie Lennox). But within all this wary care and uncertain steps, there can be some real gold to find.

If you don't feel like opening up to someone, then don't. No need to force yourself to be open at this point if it's not coming naturally. However, with the Seven of Sword's style of caution, we are more likely to notice when there is a shift, and therefore a chance to make a real breakthrough in our actions or ways of thinking.

And now I'll let the Seven of Swords cards I've selected from my collection, talk to you directly.

Seven of Swords from Alchemical Tarot: Renewed by Robert M. Place says, "Take what you need, and back away. Focus only on what you can handle now, and when you are feeling clearer you will know if you need to go back for the rest of the loot, or not."

Seven of Swords from Stella's Tarot by Stella Kaoruko & Takako Hoei says, "Ready yourself to receive what seems impossible to perceive when you are busy trying to hold everything together. If you're not yet ready to take in what is coming your way, at least don't throw the gift away, it will come in handy when you need it."

And the Seven of Swords from Tarot of the Crone by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince says, "Don't be afraid to keep looking and seeing all that is going on around you. Dare yourself to face aspects of yourself that make you feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Trust that what you learn during this time will shape you into a more credible human. Instead of evading responsibility, face it with curiosity, as there is much to learn here."

Tread wisely with the Seven of Swords...'Til next month, best wishes,
Sarah Barry (Psychic Sarah)

P.S Want more tarot stories? I post a Tarot Reading for the Collective on my website every month.

This month I used the Dark Goddess Tarot by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince. This reading was designed to help us all recover from Mercury Retrograde and get grounded again for the journey ahead!

[I generally post the Tarot Reading for the Collective in the first week (or so) of every month.]
Whilst this is a photo of my old tarot office, pretty much everything in this picture is in my new office, and the same warm and cozy vibe is still there! New photo coming soon :)
