Early bird tickets on sale from next Monday, 26 January 2015

Hello!

Thank you for signing up for updates about the Cycle Touring Festival. We have been hard at work finalising the programme and are excited to announce that tickets are due to go on sale next Monday 26 January.

We'll keep it brief. The key details about the festival are as follows:

When?

Friday 1 May - Sunday 3 May 2015.

Things will kick off on the Friday night, with most of the talks and workshops taking place on Saturday and Sunday.

Where?

Waddow Hall in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

This is a fabulous location on the banks of the River Ribble, with on-site camping (included in the ticket price) and plenty of excellent cycling to be had in the area.

What's on?

There is a whole raft of talks and workshops lined up and you can see more details here.

There will also be competitions and bike rides in the local area.

How much are tickets?

Early bird tickets will cost £75 for the weekend. This includes:
  • Two nights basic camping accommodation
  • Lunches on Saturday and Sunday; dinner on Saturday
  • Access to all talks and workshops
There will be options to upgrade to B&B accommodation and/or to stay on the Sunday night too.

The event is being organised on an entirely non-profit basis and we have tried hard to keep the ticket price as low as possible. Numbers will be very limited so we recommend getting in and buying them early!

More details about tickets are here.

Is it for you?

The festival is open to anyone interested in cycle touring, by which we mean journeys by bicycle of one night or more. Put simply, it's all about the pattern 'Cycle, Sleep, Repeat'.

Part of the motivation to organise this festival comes from a desire to bring together the cycle touring community. We were on our own big cycling adventure and realised we knew loads of people who had done similar trips, but only online. This seemed crazy - so the idea of the festival was borne.

This means there will be plenty of opportunities to sit around the campfire and chat with like-minded individuals, sharing knowledge and experience from the road. On this basis, we are deliberately keeping the festival small-scale, with a limited number of tickets available.

Tom Allen puts it better than I could here.

Planning a big trip next spring?

If you're planning a big trip this year, consider planning your departure so it coincides with the festival.  We can guarantee you a big send-off.  If this is you, let us know.

Finally, a big thank you to the talented Tenny Adamian who designed the festival logo.  You can see more of Tenny's work here

We will send you another email next week when tickets go on sale. In the meantime, have a good week and happy pedalling.
