In 2015 the Minnesota Legislature licensed radon professionals.
Effective June 1, 2020 radon mitigation professionals and companies must be licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health and start to use mitigation system tags. New construction is exempted from this system. Tags and licensing for installing radon control systems in newly constructed buildings prior to a certificate of occupancy being issued are exempt.
