UCD Puts on a Great Show at
the California Honey Festival
Meet some of our Apprentice level Master Beekeepers, experience honey like never before with a 4-D honey flavor and aroma wheel and learn about native bees at the California Honey Festival on Saturday, May 6, 2017!
The Honey and Pollination Center has created a special life-sized, simplified honey wheel that features several honeys, each paired with their unique flavor and aroma identifiers --a 4-D honey experience!
Meet the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology. The Department first began as an offshoot of the Department of Entomology and Parasitology at UC Berkeley in 1906. Since then, it has been ranked No. 1 in the country by the Chronicle of Higher Education and has been renowned for its research and teaching excellence.
Come discover native bees with Native Pollinator Specialist Robbin Thorp, a distinguished professor emeritus of Entomology at UC Davis. Learn more about bee biology and health with Elina Niño, an Extension Apiculturist in the Department of Entomology and Nematology, UC Davis.
Elina will also be speaking at the California Honey Festival on Saturday, May 6th. Her research interests are: Honey bee biology, health, and reproduction, pollination biology, insect ecology, evolution, genomics, chemical ecology and reproductive physiology.
