Meet Our Meadmaker/Winemaker: Chik Brenneman
Chik Brenneman is the winemaker and facilities manager for the Department of Vitculture and Enology, UC Davis. He is responsible for all winemaking and vineyard operations that support the department’s teaching and research mission.
On Friday, November 18, 2016, Chik Brenneman will lead a team of UC Davis Viticulture and Enology students to make mead in preparation for our course in January. This will be a great opportunity for University students to be involved in the growing industry of mead, one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in history. You can learn from Chik too in January in our Mead Making Bootcamp and Beginner's Introduction to Mead Making.

Plan Ahead with a Tasty Gift for the Holiday!

For the fourth consecutive year, the Honey and Pollination Center at the Robert Mondavi Institute will host The Feast on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Robert Mondavi Institute on the UC Davis campus. This year’s event will feature the Center’s partnership with the Good Life Garden and the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden. Together, we hope to create a re-envisioned "kitchen garden" that includes pollinator-friendly plantings, irrigation concepts, educational signage and the installation of a Good Life Garden beehive. A seasonally inspired menu has been created by Ann Evans, author of the Davis Farmer's Cookbook, revised edition.
