Dear Neighbor,

Make your voice heard at two upcoming Community Board meetings on the future of the New York Blood Center and developer Longfellow’s planned expansion.

The current proposal would put a 334-foot tower mostly dedicated to commercial space in the midblock between East 66th and East 67th Street and First and Second Avenues, endangering long-held mid-block zoning and casting a shadow on St. Catherine’s Park.

The meetings will be:
  • Community Board 8 Land Use Committee on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 6:30pm via Zoom (register)
  • Community Board 8 Special Meeting of the Board on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 6:30pm via Zoom (register)
These meetings are being held to keep the public informed and to give Community Board 8 an opportunity to give their formal opinion to the City’s Department of City Planning on the matter.

The meetings are the perfect opportunity for residents to come out and make their voices heard about the current proposal. I strongly encourage any resident who is interested to join us at both meetings.

Regards,
