Carolyn Maloney - Congresswoman
Liz Krueger - State Senator
Gale Brewer - Manhattan Borough President

Various community groups and local residents in opposition to the tower

WHAT: Community rallying against plans by the New York Blood Center to build a massive 334-foot tower that will ruin an Upper East Side park and school. The proposal plans call for tearing down the Blood Center’s three-story headquarters at 310 East 67th Street between First and Second Avenues and building a commercial tower, requiring a change in the local zoning or “upzoning” allowing for denser and taller mid-block construction where the height limit is 75 feet. The proposed tower will have floor plates the size of the Empire State Building.

WHERE:  317 East 67th Street, steps of Julia Richman Education Complex

WHEN: Sunday, May 23rd at 2:00pm
