We know. You’ve done everything you need to do in order to get ready for Race Day and you’re excited. We’re excited too! The 9th Annual Rest in Peace 5K takes place this Saturday, October 7th. And, just to ensure that you’ve got everything you need for fitness and Halloween fun, we’ve got all the Race Day details below:
DATE & TIME
The Rest in Peace 5K Run takes place on October 7, 2017. Registration opens at 4pm and the Race begins at 5pm. If you have pre-registered, your check-in will be quick, but you should still plan to give yourself enough time to park, check in and walk back to the start line.
LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
Laurel Hill Cemetery is located at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia PA, 19132. Driving Directions and public transportation info is listed HERE.
We are expecting a huge crowd this year so carpooling or public transportation is recommended. For those of you planning to indulge in a lot of free beer, this is a good (and safe) option!
If you must drive: Plan to get here when registration opens at 4pm. Volunteers will be directing you to parking in one of three lots or street parking.
Registration and check-in will be located at the main entrance of the Cemetery. For a map of the area, please check the Pre-registered Runners.
If you pre-registered for the race, you can sign-in and receive your bib number at AREA A. If you have friends or family who did not pre-register for the race, they will proceed to AREA B where they can fill out a waiver, pay their registration fees, and receive their bib number. Teams can check in at AREA C.
Your registration includes a gift bag and t-shirt in your size. Gift bags and t-shirts will be available for pick-up AFTER the race.
Walk-ups are welcome so bring your friends! However, there is no team registration or the ability to add members to a team on the day of the race. Day-of registration includes a gift bag and t-shirt, HOWEVER, t-shirts and gift bags are issued on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The Day-of registration costs are:
Adults (Age 20+): $40
Teens (Ages 13-19): $20
Kids (Ages 8-12): $15
We accept cash, check and credit card for Day-of Registration. Children under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian sign their waiver.
The Water Stop will be located about halfway through the race course and manned by RIP 5K volunteers so no need to worry about hydration! Make sure you're ready for those hills! If you are injured on the course or need assistance, please be sure to flag one of our Course Directors. They'll be in RIP 5K t-shirts.
Following the run, join us for our after-party at Laurel Hill Cemetery, featuring free beer from Magic Hat Brewing Company and Halloween snacks! Philadelphia’s Classic Rock station, 102.9 WMGK Radio will be spinning great tunes and we’ll announce the winners of all our contests. Don't forget your wallets! Buy some raffle tickets for a chance to win the 50/50 prize.
Bringing spectators? Your friends are totally welcome to cheer you on and enjoy the festivities. A $5 donation gets them a wristband to eat and drink at the after-party. The Rest in Peace 5K is a rain or shine event. In the event of a little rain, we will proceed with the event so please plan accordingly. Please Note: If conditions become dangerous and we need to cancel the event, we will notify everyone via email and website announcement by 2:30pm.
