The Episcopal Church Women of the diocese will soon form a new board and we invite you to step up to join. The positions for election to a three-year term include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, United Thank Offering Coordinator.

The purpose of the Diocesan ECW Board is to support individual congregations in the diocese, with programs within our church and communities that strengthen our faith, improve our relations with others, and use our own individual time, talents and treasures.

The ECW Board meets monthly, currently by Zoom. The work focuses on presenting programs offered to all women of the diocese for new learning, building community, and for recognizing Honored Women from each congregation. All women are members of the ECW of the diocese by virtue of their membership in the Episcopal Church.

Submit your name and Board position to ECW Vice President Jane Pomeroy at jane.pomeroy@prodigy.net by Feb. 15th.

Double Milestone for Decarbonizing - Nathaniel Bullard reported more good creation care news in Bloomberg Green Sparklines on 1-26-2023. He reported “Last year was a double milestone for decarbonizing the world’s energy system. It was the first year when investment in the energy transition equaled global investment in fossil fuels, according to the latest data release from clean energy research group BloombergNEF.

But 2022 was also a milestone in another sense — as the first year when investment in decarbonizing energy surpassed $1 trillion. The year-on-year increase of more than $250 billion from 2021 was the largest jump yet.”
“Renewable energy and electrified transport reaped most of those dollars. Those sectors were buoyed by soaring installations of wind and solar — with more than 350 gigawatts of assets built — and sales of 10-million-plus electric vehicles globally.

St. Luke’s, Atascadero, is calling a part-time Priest-in-Charge.  This position will be 10 hours/week, and so, would be a great fit for a bivocational priest, or a priest who only wants to work quarter-time.  There is very strong lay leadership, which was especially helpful throughout the pandemic, and which sets the parish up nicely to work with a part-time priest.  For more information, please see their parish profile by clicking HERE.  To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and OTM profile to Canon Martha Korienek at canonmartha@realepiscopal.org.  Applications are being received through Feb. 15, 2023.

St. Mary’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Pacific Grove, is seeking a Children, Youth, and Family Minister. Read the job description via the link for the position.
