The annual Year 6 camp occurred last week from Wednesday 24 to Friday 26 February at Camp Columba (Pukerau). It was another wonderful camp ably led by Mrs Kerslake. A special thank you to our parent helpers who took time off work to be there and support the students.
On Wednesday this week we held our School House Athletics Day. What a great day it was!
We started the day with House Chants (CLICK HERE to view the video) and a reminder of our school Value 'Whakapai ake' (Be the best you can be).

All students engaged well in the day and pushed themselves. It was thrilling to hear the following from students at the end "I achieved my personal best!" and "I don't want to go home." :)

Students who have made it through to the Southern Zone Athletics Day (Friday 12 March) will be identified today and notices sent home on Monday next week.

Congratulations to Flynn McGregor who has won the part of one of the two children playing Gavroche in the upcoming Invercargill Musical Theatre Company production "Les Miserables". What an exciting opportunity!

You can book your tickets through ICC booking office for shows from 9-24 July when they become available.
"As a new family to Myross Bush School (and the country!), we have been overwhelmed by the support received not only from the school, but the parents too. We love the school and everything it stands for. Our son Brody, started in the third term and quickly settled into his new environment, and he felt at home right from day one. We saw huge growth in his reading and writing, and he absolutely adores Mrs Godby and Mrs McCorkindale. His little sister can’t wait to join him at school. We are eternally grateful for the chance we were given to be a part of this amazing school." Melissa Dwyer
A BIG 'shout out' to Doug Young who has been working on and now installed our new biofilter in the small paddock next to the main carpark.
Its job is to remove the occasional bad smell that is omitted from our waste disposal pump.
This clever design is made up of bark chip, some ground oyster shell (for lime) and Ohai coal nuggets (carbon). Thank you Doug!
Please continue to scan QR codes at the school gate and monitor closely for illness within your whānau.

Our focus as always will be to support the learning, safety and wellbeing of our ākonga and kaiako and we continue to be here to support you too.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s kaiako or me, if there is something you need assistance with.
