We are very blessed at Myross Bush School to have such a supportive group of parents we call our Friends of School (FOS). They meet once a term and contribute significantly to the resources in our school. For example, at the last meeting they committed to paying for the following 2021 resources:
  1. School swimming for all students at Splash Palace (10 sessions over 3 weeks) = $3,500 (The ILT also contribute to the costs.)
  2. Online Math (Mathletics/Matific) subscription for Year 1-6 students = $2,700
  3. NZ Play Planks to support 'Learning Through Play' = $1,100
  4. Teacher Aide hours = upwards of $18,000
This is very generous and today we want to particularly honour the following FOS Executive members:
Mel Young = President
Tara McIntosh = Secretary
Julie McEwan-Franks = Treasurer

They have done a lot for the school over recent years and we are grateful to them for this leadership.
They have also indicated they wish to pass the baton on at the start of 2021. If you would like to be considered for either of the above roles, please speak with them or email the school at office@myrossbush.school.nz

Akotoa led our School Assembly last week and did a great job. Below is the video they shared giving us an insight into their day to day learning. Click on the image below to watch the video.
Reminder: as per the email dated Wed 25 Nov, due to the inclement weather, we have postponed our Fun Run until Tuesday 1 December at 1.30pm.

At the time of writing this newsletter, funds for the school have reached approximately $5,853.87

Fundraising options include:
  1. Setting up a child's profile online at www.schoolfundraising.co.nz. This online option closes today, Friday 27 November. 30% of funds raised covers prizes and 5% goes to administration. Students who raise funds over $10 or more can choose a prize.
  2. Fundraise as above but donate the prizes to the school. There are Science, PE and creative prizes the school could benefit from.
  3. Not setting up a profile online and instead just giving a donation straight to the school by making a bank transfer to 12-3154-0118275-01 and labelling it "Fun Run Donation"
On the day students will need:
  1. A change of clothes to run in
  2. A water bottle
  3. A towel
  4. Sunscreen
Students who raised funds online can order their prizes through their login profile between the 28 November and 2 December. Once signed into their profile, simply click on the ‘Claim Your Prize’ button and follow the prompts. If you have any questions, please contact the School Fun-Run team on 0800 377 170 and they can assist.
A reminder that we ask parents to drop off and collect their children between 8.15am and 3.15pm. Unless they are bus children, children on the school grounds outside this timeframe are the responsibility of parents.
If the pickup timeframe is a challenge, we encourage you to enrol in the XO after school program (they run a van and collect students from school).
Our school uniform has been updated with our new logo! We are stoked with the new look of the bucket hat and t-shirt! The new t-shirt is made from an advanced fabric with a sublimated design that will not crinkle, fade or peel.
Please note: tee's are still to arrive but sun hats are in stock at the office.

You can order yours today via the link below or ringing the school office between 9-1pm.
