Myross Bush School take out the first official inter school rugby challenge for the Rutledge Rugby Shield last Friday against Makarewa 87-0
As you will all know, Tim, Lisa, Grace, Noah and Jacob are leaving us at the end of this term. A special community assembly to farewell the Lovelock family will be held on Friday 25 September (the last day of term). This will provide an opportunity to recognise the significant contribution that Tim and his family have made to the School, and to wish them every success in their future endeavours in the North Island.
The children will have their lunch before the assembly starts at 12.30pm. There will be a simple BBQ to follow the assembly for the children and their parents/caregivers (thanks to The Friends of the School who have kindly agreed to provide a sausage for everyone). The children will have the option of leaving with their parents/ caregivers at the end of the assembly, or staying at school until the end of the day.
I hope you can all make it!

On another note, I want to make special mention and to thank the entire teaching staff who presented at the end of our Board of Trustees meeting on Monday night. Each team teaching pair outlined their learning processes in terms of planning, reviewing and reflecting. It was fantastic to see and hear their commitment and passion for teaching our children. I would encourage all parents to have a chat with their children’s teachers to learn more about the innovative methods that are being used to encourage our children to be effective learners.
Grace and Ashley were our school representatives at the recent primary schools regional speech competition. Ashley placed second overall at this event and is today competing in the overall Year 5/6 finals at 4pm at James Hargest Junior Campus. Well done!
Myross Bush School’s production of Music through the Ages is on Wednesday September 23 at 7pm.  Join with us as we share with you some of our favourite music - some with a twist - from the last century through to the present day.

Tickets are on sale now at the ICC booking office.

Spotlight: Team Akotoa

Inquiry delivery

Akotoa students have been able to choose from a number of mixed media to present their research over the last few weeks. They have chosen from creating eBooks, animations, movies, art work and sculpture with clay! Learning is messy sometimes!

Please let us know of any out of school sporting, cultural or academic achievements for your child so we can share it with our school community.

18 - 20 March 2016

The link to the minutes of the meetings are below. If you would like to be part of the organising committee to coordinate the weekends events then please come along to the next meeting on September 10 at 7.30pm in the school staffroom.

The planning groups for the 150th celebrations and the school fete (Saturday 19 March) are separate but the events are part of the same weekend as we want to bring new and existing families together as part of the wider celebrations. This is important as the community our school represents has changed dramatically over its time from when it started all those years ago!

Please consider helping one of these groups to make the weekend of 18-20 March 2016 a huge success!

Register your interest to be part of the 150th Celebrations
