The European Geoparks Week, which took place between May 23th and June 9th, was also signaled by Geopark Association Lands of Knights.

Distinct activities integrated the program in the territory, looking to approach all the population and the various players of the Geopark to its methodology of work. Including: information sessions with students of the Vertical Grouping of Macedo de Cavaleiros, GNR agents and users of the Santa Casa da Misericordia de Macedo de Cavaleiros; realization of the Geological Route by students of the Secondary School; an exhibition and a march on the Environment held by the students of 1st cycle of basic education; a seminar on "The importance of agriculture on biodiversity," integrated on the Farmer Day; and Photo Contest which explored the sharing of different perspectives on the territory of the Geopark Lands of Knights.

Although still not officially integrating the European Geoparks Network, the Geopark Lands of Knights did not leave to join by the second consecutive year, exploring the aims of the initiative going through to raise awareness of the importance of geoconservation and promotion of geological heritage.
Candidate for membership in the European Geoparks and Global Network (GCN and EGN), the Geopark Lands of Knights has recently undergone an assessment visit on the application submitted a year ago. Pasquale Li Puma and Chanxing Long, both representatives of GCN and EGN, underwent on 22nd and 23rd, the evaluation visit to the territory, having a closer contact with the uniqueness of geological, archaeological, biological, cultural and historical heritage, hospitality and pride of the people, that hold the knowledge and traditions that cross generations.
"The mines of Murçós in the Geopark Lands of Knights - A project to develop within the safeguarding of intangible heritage", was presented at the Fifth Annual Meeting of Partners, organized by the Mines and Roadmap Points of Interest Mining and Geology of Portugal. The layout of the mining complex of Murçós aims to register on videotape memories and experiences of ex-miners, seeking to preserve the intangible heritage preventing his disappearance.
This meeting took place on June 26 in Salinas Ecomuseu of Rio Maior.
The Geopark Lands of Knights welcomed the realization of the international summer workshop on Geodiversity and Geological Heritage. Organized in partnership with the University of Minho, the initiative received 30 participants from different countries. The lectures and hosting of all occurred in Ecopark Azibo.
Looking to promote their territory and their action to the increased sustainable development, the Geopark is participating in events. Recently attended the 3rd Expo Tras-os-Montes in Bragança, in the Agricultural Show and San Pedro Fair, in Macedo de Cavaleiros.
Heir of a geological legacy recognized throughout the Geopark Lands of Knights did not fail the IX National Congress of Geology and Geology and the 2nd Geology Congress of the Portuguese Speaking Countries. Held from 21 to 25 July at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto, has been specially designed for the pre-college community. The GTC present at the "Tent of Live Geology" presented a set of pedagogical activities that, in simple language, explored the unique geology of its territory.
