Blaenavon World Heritage Centre Halloween Fun!
Join us during half term 28 - 31 October for some family friendly ‘make & take’ workshops. (£1 charge applies to cakes). We will be making everything from lanterns to freaky fingers decorations to ensure your Halloween party goes with a bang!! The Heritage Café will be serving Halloween specials such as pumpkin soup and witches brew punch!
Why not join us and have a frighteningly fun time! Spaces are limited so come along early to avoid disappointment.

Spooky Halloween Trail at Blaenavon Ironworks!
31 October, Join a Halloween themed trail for a day of thrills and chills!  There’s a prize for the first 100 children who take part.  It’s FREE!

Experience the New Education Workshops at the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre  
The Blaenavon World Heritage Centre offers a new range of educational workshops aimed at Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2  Located in the heart of the Blaenavon World Heritage Site, the workshops will teach children about how the Victorians influenced the area, including Victorian childhood, working life and transport links.  Other workshop themes include Global World Heritage Sites; Iron Age Celts; Habitats & Bio-diversity; and Film Making. The Centre is well equipped with educational resources.   We can offer an educational visit for your pupils tailored to your individual requirements, whether it be a session, workshop, talk or tour.  If you have any special requirements please contact the Education Officer on 01495 742333 or email:

New Funding to Save Cinema at Blaenavon Workmens Hall
Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall Committee is pleased to announce that plans are afoot to attract funding to convert the 85 Seat Cinema to digital projection. The cinema is currently closed due to the unavailability of 35mm films from the major film distributors but the committee are passionate about seeing this popular community facility back into use. Blaenavon's World War One Book Launched        
“Blaenavon’s role during World War One is revealed in a new book by the volunteers of the Community Heritage & Cordell Museum. The book, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, will be launched on 24 October and will be available to buy (£10 a copy) from the Museum or Blaenavon World Heritage Centre.”
