We need your voice at the Capitol on February 11th to educate legislators about the importance of youth mentoring programs in Iowa. This day is designed to communicate the collective value of service and the public policy priorities of Volunteer Iowa to legislators and policy makers.  Any supporter of your program who can speak to the value of the Iowa Mentoring Partnership to your program can attend, including leadership, board members, program staff, and mentors and mentees. EACH PARTICIPANT SHOULD REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY


Another year of great engagement from the Iowa Mentoring Partnership and mentoring programs across the state. The IMP promoted mentoring in the media and hosted the mentoring month proclamation with Governor Kim Reynolds.

M.A.Y. Mentoring/Links of LNX2 – Shenandoah
Mentoring Affects Youth (M.A.Y.) Mentoring celebrated their 20-year anniversary this January with National Mentoring Month being a perfect time to recognize the milestone.One of their mentors, Chelsie Greene, a former mentee with the program, was honored as Person of the Year by The Valley News.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland – Sioux City
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland hosted a snow tubing event at Cone Park for current matches. Current mentors shared their experience in the program and recruited new mentors.    



Helping Services for Youth & Families – Delaware County
Ellen Krogmann with Helping Services was featured in a news article encouraging everyone to make a difference as a mentor. The Delaware County Board of Supervisors signed a mentoring month proclamation. Mentoring displays promoted the program in the Edgewood and Manchester public libraries, Maquoketa Valley High School, and at local businesses in Delaware County.

SAMHSA's Trauma-Informed Approach: Key Assumptions and Principles
Two-Part Webinar

This training provides an introduction to trauma and trauma-informed approaches in behavioral health and human services. No prior knowledge about trauma is necessary. The material is intended for a wide range of audiences and will provide a basis for more advanced work in developing trauma-informed environments and practices. Register ››


You Matter is a safe space for youth to discuss and share stories about mental health and wellness, created and administered by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
