Project: : Knockaround -- the go-to for fashionable yet affordable sunglasses -- selected OCIO to design their Old Town HQ

• Result: Staying true to the brand, OCIO kept things practical, yet stylish; timeless, but designed to take a beating. The space communicates the youthful spirit and high energy of this growing company

• The Look: OCIO brought the OUTdoors IN with organic, grass-inspired carpet. We maximized the functionality of every imaginable area: conference rooms host product displays, and the kitchen doubles as a employee hub. Custom-made oversized sunglasses hang above the reception desk with a nod to color palettes from Knockaround’s previous collections

From hospitality to retail, corporate headquarters in San Diego and beyond, here is a preview of OCIO design group’s upcoming projects:
  • Crab Hut Group’s Kingfisher, a modern take on traditional Vietnamese, Golden Hill
  • Fashionphile’s nationwide retail expansion through its Neiman Marcus partnership
  • Herringbone restaurant at Atlantis the Palm, Dubai
  • Vegas-based eggslut's "egghole" @ Dick’s Last Resort former Gaslamp locale
  • Little Italy HQ of well-known San Diego-based entertainment group
  • New North County HQ (40,000 SF) of global AV technology giant

• Project: San Diego culinary icon Giuseppe Ciuffa chose OCIO for his latest La Jolla project Candor. Giuseppe and OCIO had previously collaborated on Caroline’s Seaside Café over a decade ago

Result: Casual & approachable, cool & intimate, this European Bistro is sure to be a La Jolla destination for travelers and locals alike. Features a cozy dining area, wine bar and covered patio dining

• The Look: Wood-look floor tile with a soft, worn feel contrasts with the crisp white walls. An unexpected high ceiling with exposed beams showcases clusters of corrugated cardboard pendant lighting. Classic Carrara marble countertops and bright teal stools at the bar offer guests an intimate view into Giuseppe's kitchen

“Even though Knockaround was all grown up, our previous HQ still had that ‘start-up’ feel. OCIO delivered a concept for our new offices that was colorful & eccentric, but with the sophistication & functionality our growing sunglasses company needs to thrive.”
