Historic Rain!
A wet fall has led to record numbers across the Hill Country. Westcave's precipitation records are astonishing!
Twelve feet and two weeks the Hammetts Crossing bridge was under water. Fortunately, there was not great damage to the canyon and grotto area itself. The historic rains did, however, leave much trail and fencing repair work to do. Thanks to conservation grants like one from the Davidson Endowment Fund, we are able to restore the preserve back to use. Without their generous donations, swift recovery from the flood’s aftermath would not be possible.
