Today teams will be presented with a challenging natural resources scenario.  As you brainstorm with your team to prepare for your presentation we challenge you to be forward thinking as North Carolina's very own Hugh Hammond Bennett later deemed to be the Father of Soil Conservation.

  • Attire for the Day - Your Choice 
  • Enforcement of required permits begins at 7:00am today!  Please be sure your vehicle is parked in the Upper Sullivan Lot along Thurman Drive.
  • All vehicles on campus must pull straight into the parking spot.  DO NOT back in or pull straight thru into the spot ahead of you.  The back plate/tag must be visible from the rear at all times.
Oral Presentation Notes
  • The full presentation schedule with room assignments is posted in the lobby of Lee Hall.
  • NO cell phones or other electronic devices, unless provided by event organizers, are allowed during oral presentation prep nor in the rest of the day that follows!  Confiscated cell phones may result in point deductions and possible disqualification.  
  • Advisors will NOT be allowed in the training room this year.  Advisors may receive a copy of the problem following the final three presentations on Friday.  From the point students are dropped off for OP prep, they will not have contact with their Advisors until they are picked up following sequestration. 
  • Teams will be paired with Team Buddies following OP training and will be escorted to lunch and to their presentation prep room in Alexander by these Team Buddies.
  • Teams will be asked to turn out pockets and have any bags searched the CAT Team as they enter Alexander.  USBs or any electronics are strictly prohibited.   
  • Use of internet during sequestration period is strictly prohibited.  The internet is disabled on the computers.
  • The students will be given a USB that contains pictures and electronic files that they may reference or utilize in their presentation.  Teams using the tradition poster method will have hard copies of this information.
  • The sequestration will last 6 hours without interruption.  Teams may choose to break if everyone on if the team agrees and goes together supervised by their Team Buddy.  
  • Teams may finish early.  If they wish to leave, their Team Buddy will escort them to the Ground Floor of Alexander where one of our lead volunteers may call their Advisor to come and pick them up.
