FAIRVIEW FAMILY,
C.S. Lewis once wrote, "We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is 'good,' because it is good, if 'bad' because it works in us patience, humility and the contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country." Friends, many of you are going through challenges now, but do not despair. God is at work. And so let us be a thankful people in all things knowing that Christ has lived and died to provide us with an eternal home with Him.
Don't wait until Thanksgiving to give God thanks. Join us for two services on Sunday as we worship our great God. The Sunday evening service begins at 5:30 p.m. It will include a testimony of thanks from one of our members, and we will join one another at the Lord's table for communion. I am looking forward to both of those services of worship with you.
"It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praise to your name, O Might High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night" (Psalm 92:1-2)
Grace be with you.
-Kenny

Book of the Month | The Presbyterian Story: Origins and Progress of a Reformed Tradition by Donald Fortson
For a while now, I've used this space to suggest a book to you; November's book is a concise and yet informative history of Presbyterianism in America, connecting our history with that of the Reformation and even with the early church. Pick up a copy wherever good books are sold. What else are you reading these days? Let me know!
