VOLUME 31, ISSUE 36, OCTOBER 9, 2022

Greetings! I sure look forward to worship with you on Sunday. Lord's Day worship has the effect of order for me. When Monday through Saturday feels fluid and chaotic, Sunday arrives with a calmness and a regularity. Some weeks I wouldn't know what day it was if it weren't for the steadiness of corporate worship. There's good biblical reason for this; God ordered it this way. He knows you need rest. He created an entire day for your rest and worship.

"Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation" (Genesis 2:2:1-3).

Let us remember the Christian Sabbath, not neglecting to meet together (Ex. 20:8, Heb. 10:24).

As for other times of gathering, see below. I specifically mention Men of the Covenant at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Bible study, brothers in Christ, biscuits ... wow there's a sermon in there with 3 points and alliteration! I hope to see you tomorrow morning in the Family Life Center.

Women, don't forget you have a brunch approaching on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Libby McClimon's house. That time of food and fellowship begins at 9:30 a.m. and the McClimon home is located at 976 Fairview Church Rd. I know that'll be a good time.

I think that'll do it for now. Keep scrolling for more calendar events and announcements. As always, thank you for reading.

See you Sunday.
Our nursery continues to grow, and we need your help to care for our youngest members and point them to Jesus! Tammy Teal is helping with signups, and she'd love to hear from you and schedule you for nursery. Click here to send her an email or give her a call at 541.274.1158. Book of the Month | Studies in the Sermon on the Mount, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones
For a while now, I've used this space to suggest a book to you; October's book is one that I have not read but hoping to get to soon. It comes with recommendations from other respected pastors. I suggest it now as we will soon be covering the Sermon on the Mount within our sermon series on Matthew. What else are you reading these days? Let me know!
