Revolution or Living Tradition?
Holly Ulbrich

July is the month of three revolutions--American, French, and Cuban.  What lessons can we take from revolutions and their aftermath that inform our own faith tradition, born of the revolution called the radical reformation in Europe and nurtured by the democratic spirit of the American revolution?

Community Quilt Project
First Meeting - Sunday, July 7th - after pot luck

Marge Abel and Carla Woodmansee are planning a community quilt project to be put together by members and friends of UUFF. Each block could reflect an aspect of our UU community and even the larger community. We will use our imaginations and incorporate all skill levels.

Our first meeting will be on July 7th after the Potluck.  We are excited that this will be a fun project, allowing us to strengthen the bonds that already exist between us, to create new bonds and make new friends, and to build a stronger community. It will be “sew” much fun. We’re on “pins and needles.” Click on the link below to learn about a collaborative quilt project described in UU World.

The Appalachian Humanist Group invites you to join in a Conversation on Racism, led by Jay Wamsted "White Accountability in Racism: What Do WE do?" Tuesday, July 9th 10:30 - 11:30 am in the Hudson Library Meeting Room.

Jay is a white man who has taught Math at predominately black Benjamin E Mays High School in SW Atlanta for 14 years. He can be found online at The Southeast Review, Under the Sun, and the TEDx YOUTUBE channel, where you can watch his 2017 talk "Eating the Elephant: Ending the Racism & the Magic of Trust."

The Open Minds group in Clayton plan on eating breakfast at the Sunday Diner at 8:30 and carpooling to the meeting. You are welcome to join us.  Call Laura Loveless for more information.
