*Rock Soup*

Have you heard the story of “Rock Soup?” Imagine a group of people that were hungry but had nothing to eat or no way to eat. Some gathered in the park and one said,” I have only a pot to cook with but no food to put in it.” Another stated, “I have a potato but no pot to cook it in, I can share my potato with you.” “I too, cannot cook chicken that I have.” People at once began naming food that they could contribute to the pot. People ran off in different direction and came back with utensils, the huge pot and all the ingredients and laid them on a huge rock. Once put together they had a huge pot that was full of soup, Rock Soup. Moral of the story: We all have something to share and when we mix our gifts, we flourish.

Contemplative Dialog – This Sunday, July 28th, 9:30-10:30am

Our next fourth Sunday, monthly meeting of Contemplative Dialog will be Sunday July 28th.  A topic will be announced at the session followed by 7 minutes of silent contemplation.  We will then share our thoughts.  Come join us for this open discussion where everyone’s opinion is welcomed and respected.  We have much to learn from each other and our discussions enable us to get to know each other better.

This program is open to all and we hope you can join us.  Bring a friend.  No reservations necessary.   UU Fellowship - 89 Sierra Dr. Franklin.  Coffee and discussion - 9:30-10:30am before service.  828 524-3691.

The UUFF website is undergoing a reboot and may not be working properly off and on for the next few weeks.  Please be patient as we give it this needed update.
We thank you in advance for entering your full name
when signing up on the Volunteer whiteboard so that we can get the details correct for the
UU View and the Sunday Bulletin.
We still need a Hospitality Committee and Chair!  In order to have social time with coffee and snacks, we need to have a group of members willing to share the responsibilities.
For now we are winging it week to week.

Community Quilt Project

Next Meeting - Sunday, August 4th - after pot luck

We had a great turnout for the first Community Quilt Project meeting! We welcome anyone who was unable to attend to come to our next meeting after pot-luck in August. For the next meeting, please bring in some fabric pieces that you are fond of and would be suitable for use in a 12 inch square, keeping in mind that each block could reflect an aspect of our UU community and even the larger community. Click on the link below to learn about a collaborative quilt project described in UU World.

Alert from UUA Internet Technology Services: Religious groups and congregations are becoming easy targets for online scams often delivered via email. For more information click on the link below.
