It's a god awful thing we have with war

How is war such a part of our history and culture? Why do we choose to go to war?  Can we really stop it?  What are the 'pre' and 'post' thoughts on war?  Is it a necessary evil?

Fellowship Contribution Campaign

We Build on Foundations We Did Not Lay

We build on foundations we did not lay

We warm ourselves by fires we did not light

We sit in the shade of trees we did not plant

We drink from wells we did not dig

We profit from persons we did not know

This is as it should be.

Together we are more than any
one person could be.

Together we can build across the generations.

Together we can renew our hope and faith
in the life that is yet to unfold.

Together we can heed the call to
a ministry of care and justice.

We are ever bound in community.

May it always be so.

Rev. Peter Raible (1930-2004)
UU Minister, Seattle, WA

All contributions are greatly appreciated.

May your giving bring you joy!
The artwork in the worship section is entitled Survivors and is by Kathe Kollwitz, an antiwar, antipoverty activist. She is considered to be the 20th century's foremost artist of social protest. She lost both her son and grandson to war. She also created these sculptures of herself and husband grieving the death of their son in war.
