  • Karen Giuliani expressed her disapproval of city council.
  • James Giuliani expressed his concerns with the Code Enforcement Department. 
 Items for Discussion
  • An ordinance designating and declaring Second-Street restricted to one-way traffic from University Avenue to Grant Avenue
    • This ordinance would change Second Street to a one-way street to provide metered parking for businesses along University Avenue. 
    • This ordinance was moved to the City Council Agenda for August 6.
  • An ordinance authorizing and approving the acquisition, equipping and improvement by the Morgantown Land Reuse and Preservation Agency of real estate property located at 430 Spruce Street
    • This ordinance would approve the acquisition of 430 Spruce Street by the Morgantown Land Reuse and Preservation Agency, in the amount of $1,250,000. Additional renovations will be completed to the interior of the building, as well as a pocket park located on the outside of the building. The total cost of this acquisition and improvements of the building will be approximately $1,500,000. The acquisition through the Land Reuse and Preservation Agency will allow for the leasing of additional space within this building that is not being utilized by the city. 
    • This ordinance was moved to the City Council Agenda for August 6. 
  • A resolution approving terms of the lease revenue bonds, series 2019 of the City of Morgantown Land Reuse and Preservation Agency
    • This resolution would approve the terms of the lease revenue bonds for the Land Reuse and Preservation Agency, authorizing Crews and Associates as the placement agent for the agency. This will allow for Crews and Associates to begin a two week RFP solicitation period.
    • This was moved to the City Council Agenda for August 6.
  • Home Rule Plan Amendment - Change required audit date for the Morgantown Land Reuse and Preservation Agency
    • This amendment would change the audit date for the Land Reuse and Preservation Agency to coordinate with the general audit due date. 
    • This amendment was moved to the City Council Agenda for August 6.
  • Resolution authorizing execution of an agreement with WVDOT DOH for establishment and maintenance of a traffic signal system within the Municipal Limits of the City of Morgantown
    • This resolution will allow for the DOH to make changes to the traffic signal system in the area of Earl Core Road and Hartman Run Road, at the expense of Aldi Inc. 
    •  This resolution was moved to the City Council Agenda for August 6.  
  • Resolution authorizing the FY 2019-2020 grant application for the Prevention Resource Officers through the West Virginia Justice Assistance Grant Program
    • This is a routine application submitted to the state to request funding for school resource officers. The funding request is capped at $40,000.
    • This resolution was moved to the City Council agenda for August 6.
