  • Francis McGreevy requested information regarding a lot at the corner of Hitchins and White Avenue. 
  • Carol Hall spoke about concerns regarding a Mountain Line bus stopping on Spruce Street for senior citizens and sheltered areas in the downtown for people waiting for the bus. 
  • Linnie Wiley spoke about her concerns on the Mountain Line bus service's route in the downtown area.

City Manager's Report
Information
  •  2017-2019 Strategic Plan Interim Report 
    • City Manager Paul Brake spoke about progress made over the past year, regarding the objectives set out in the 2017-2019 Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan Interim Report can be found on the City Manager's webpage.
  • Updates to government access cable channel 15 
    • City Manager Paul Brake spoke about purchasing equipment to facilitate an update from an analog to digital signal on Channel 15 and the improvement in quality over the past year.
New Business
  • Repayment of property taxes collected from University Park at Evansdale and West Virginia University Housing 
    • Finance Director, Jim Gough, spoke about a recent West Virginia Supreme Court decision on the proper valuation of public/private development found that the property taxes that have been assessed and collected from University Park at Evansdale and West Virginia Campus Housing dating back to 2015 must be repaid, including interest. The City must repay its portion to Monongalia County, which distributed the funds in accordance with State law.
    • A motion was made to remit funds to the treasurer of Monongalia County. (Passed 7-0)


City Clerk's Report 
 
  • The Deputy Clerk spoke about the Police Department's recruitment for entry level officers. Testing will be Saturday, April 13. Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is March 15. Applications are available on the Police Department's webpage.
  • City Council candidate packets are available on the City website. The city election is April 30, 2019.
