Come and visit us and experience a true taste of the Borders.

Its almost the end of the summer holidays and we have just one more bank holiday weekend before it all gets quiet again!
So lets plan a good one, BBQ's and picnics galore as the weather (fingers crossed) looks to be on our side.
Brampton sees the long awaited return of two traders, Susan's Farm and Freedom Chocolates so do pre order or just come on down and see what they have to offer. Freedom Chocolate will also return to Carlisle, see below for more details.
Carlisle this month will be finishing at 1pm due to an event in the Cathedral, but fear not, all the usual stalls will be there, you can still pre-order direct with the traders. We will also have return of the popular The Makers March in with the main market instead of outside the Cathedral this month.

This Sunday Sustainable Brampton will have a stall at the community open day at the community centre.
Come along and say hello!
See below for details
Susan's Farm
Susan's Farm is an organic farm certified by the Soil Association. Our Lamb and Beef is also Pasture for Life Certified (PFLA).

We farm Longhorn Cattle, North of England Mule Sheep, Geese and Hens. Currently we have about 40 head of cattle, 45 ewes, 80 lambs, 30 geese and 25 hens (for eggs). We sell beef and lamb year round, eggs to locals in Houghton and geese are immensely popular at Christmas time. We also have about half and acres of a productive fruit and vegetable garden at Houghton and sell surplus from that alongside our homemade jellies and jams. The farm is mostly grass but we also grow a five hectares of herbal leys, and we have about 10 acres of woodland, some is SSSI along the river Eden. We are working on enhancing carbon storage in our pastures through improving our grazing management.

Freedom Chocolate
Using their own special recipes, they blend the raw ingredients together to make chocolate. Then, using age old, skilled techniques the chocolate is hand tempered across a granite slab. This develops the flavours and texture. Next, the chocolate is hand poured. Finally, every bar is wrapped by hand.  Each bar is truly a labour of love. Freedom Chocolate is a raw chocolate that is suitable for EVERYONE – including Vegans and Allergy Sufferers.
