Congratulations to All Participants in the Ventures and Values Pitch Competition!
Congratulations to Aluwet Deng, Christy Felix, Daivon Gatling-Tillery, and Sinclaire Jones, all MSB seniors and members of U Hustle, the winning team from the November 30 Georgetown Ventures & Values pitch competition co-sponsored by Georgetown Entrepreneurship and the Georgetown Institutes for the Study of Markets and Ethics! This competition featured teams of MSB students who are currently taking their required ethics course. In the course, all students form teams, work on a startup venture, and make an in-class pitch. The best teams advanced to the November 30 final competition where they pitched in front of a panel of entrepreneurs in residence and other experienced business executives. U Hustle won first the place prize of $5000 that they can use to grow the business. Mazeed was the second place team ($1500) and Cherry Tree won third place ($1000).
Thanks to all Participants in the StartupHoyas Med Design Lab Event
On Dec 1, StartupHoyas MED hosted its first annual Startup Design Lab with over 50 participants and speakers. 9 teams presented at the end of an all-day, hackathon-style workshop that featured speakers and mentors from all across healthcare including Kaiser Permanente, OptumInsight, NaviMed Capital, GetWellNetwork, and many more. The day was facilitated by Mathew Farkash, Founding Partner of Blueprint Health, a digital health accelerator based out of NYC, and pitches from the teams ranged from virtual reality training tools to advanced cancer therapeutics to digital health tools to make the lives of both physicians and patients better. For more information about future events, visit the StartupHoyas MED Website.
