KEEN is Bringing the World's Smallest to Georgetown!

KEEN is a shoe startup that uses the UNEEKBOT to make custom shoes. KEEN is taking their bot on tour and stopping at Georgetown!

Entrepreneurship Career Counseling is Kicking Off

Cawley's Entrepreneurship Counseling Program is kicking off this week! Attend 30 minute one-on-one sessions in one of Cawley’s free offices or in the Cawley library. Phone or video sessions are also an option. The hours at Cawley will be posted under the Entrepreneurship Career Counseling header on the right side of our weekly newsletter.

Startup Nation Technology Fair

The Start-Up Nation Technology Fair at Georgetown is a professionally organized expo floor featuring early-stage Israeli companies exhibiting innovative products and technologies.

The fair also features internship and employment opportunities with the exhibiting Israeli companies, a LinkedIn photo booth, raffle prizes and more!

You'll also have the chance to hear from Ifat Baron, Founder and Executive Director of ItWorks, a non-for-profit organization promoting employment diversity in Israel’s hi-tech industry and bridging employment gaps in Israeli society.

Entrepreneurship Minor and Fellowship Info Sessions

The McDonough School offers opportunities for undergraduate students in and outside the MSB to integrate entrepreneurship into their course of study. Both of these programs allow students to develop the entrepreneurial mindset and skills and needed to identify, evaluate and execute on new opportunities – and both are designed not only for future founders, but also for those who see themselves in strategy, innovation, product management or leadership roles within any kind of a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
Light refreshments will be served;

Global Food Security and Social Innovation Lab
Georgetown University’s Global Human Development program, in partnership with the Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation, the Maker Hub, and the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative  invite you to the 2018 Social Innovation Lab! 
The Social Innovation Lab is a 3-day “hackathon” where students design, prototype, and deliver innovative solutions to some of today’s most pressing problems in global development. Competing students from across the University will form teams to develop social innovations and pitch them before a panel of expert judges for a prize pool of up to $10K in cash prizes and seed grants.
This year, the Lab will focus on food security, agricultural innovation, inclusive value chains, food waste management, and nutrition. Over the weekend of Nov 16-18, participants will have access to a range of mentors with expertise in business and agriculture and will have a chance to hear from guest speakers and panelists.

The deadline to apply is October 15.  Space is limited, participants must commit to pre-lab engagement and full participation in the weekend Lab intensive. Undergraduate and Graduate students are welcome.

Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator is a seed stage tech accelerator in NYC with 165+ portfolio companies who have gone on to raise $300M in VC. They are the leading tech accelerator in NYC and have recently opened applications for their Winter 2019 investment class.

Intern Opportunity at food startup, dafero
Food startup and member of the Georgetown Venture Lab, dafero is looking for a social media intern and a partnerships intern. This is a great opportunity to work with Georgetown graduates, gain startup experience, and spend time at the new Georgetown Venture Lab.

Social Media Intern role: You will be responsible for maintaining dafero’s Instagram and Facebook pages, think of creative ways to partner with “influencers” while on a tight budget, send the bi-weekly email newsletter, and build the overall social media strategy.

Partnerships Intern role: Help develop dafero’s education tool for our refugee women employees – we are building an education app which will help train them on topics such as financial inclusion, early childhood development, rights
in the US, preventing sexual violence, and others.

Continuing with their five-year tradition, CommonBond is hosting a contest for student entrepreneurs with a social impact business idea. The winner will receive $10,000 toward making their business a reality and access to coaching from CommonBond's leadership team
