Greetings Walkway Friends!

Spring has finally arrived in the Hudson Valley! We’re pleased to share that the Walkway will be featured in Treasures of New York: Rails-to-Trails, a documentary that will air on PBS THIRTEEN and WLIW21 New York. We are happy to become a part of the region's rapidly growing network of trails. Don’t miss this special, let us know what you think!

More exciting news on the upcoming construction of the Ulster Welcome Center -- we've just learned from Walkway State Park officials that construction will begin on May 30. This construction will enhance the West entrance to include upgraded restrooms, a gathering area under a covered pavilion and more. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting renovation!

Walkway Over the Hudson continues to host friends, students, families and visitors from around the world who come to experience our Hudson Valley treasure. Connect with us, help us spread the word and get involved via our social media pages and walkway.org.

See you on the Walkway!

Treasures of New York: Rails-to-Trails on PBS
Beginning May 18, the Emmy-Award winning PBS series, Treasures of New York, will take viewers across New York State on a journey along various railway corridors that have been re-purposed as recreational bike and pedestrian trails, in the new documentary, Rails-to-Trails.

The film details the history of some of the more than 100 rail trails that line the state, including Manhattan’s renowned High Line and our own Walkway Over the Hudson. This feature explores the natural beauty and rich history of New York and the serene settings that allow people to escape the hustle of 21st century living.

Airing:
Thursday, May 18 at 8 pm on WLIW21 New York
Sunday, May 21 at 7 pm on THIRTEEN (PBS).

The program will also be available to stream online at http://wliw.org/treasures as of 7 pm Sunday, May 21.
