April 17-30: Review and comment period for draft Campus Sustainability Plan 2017-22


UCSC students, staff, faculty, and administrators serving on Campus Sustainability Plan committees have been busy developing draft goals and strategies for the updated Campus Sustainability Plan 2017-22. Later this month, campus community members will be able to review the draft goals and strategies and provide feedback electronically. Undergraduate and graduate student feedback sessions will also take place during the review process.

Hundreds of students and community members contribute to CO2CA-CO2LA Ocean


While coral reefs across the world continue to be impacted by climate change, a reef of our own has been growing in the Mary Porter Senson Gallery. Stitch-by-stitch, roughly 200 students and 200 community members have grown CO2CA-CO2LA Ocean, a colorful and elaborate coral reef made entirely of yarn!

Rachel Carson College Earth Week Team Plans for Earth Day 2017


Each year, Rachel Carson College hosts "Earth Week," a campuswide series of events coordinated by the Earth Week Team. This year, the events will take place April 17-22 and will be centered around the topic of “Standing Together: Taking Action in our Community and Environment.”

Sustainability Profile: Genoa Faber

 
This month we are featuring Genoa Faber, the new Office Manager/Events Coordinator for the Sustainability Office!

We are also saying farewell this month to Melissa Ott, our previous Office Manager/Events Coordinator. She's moving on to become an apprentice at the UCSC Farm after working in our office since 2011!
