What else is happening this week?

Three Launches and an Asteroid

Monday is scheduled to bring us three exciting space-related events: a SpaceX launch from the West Coast carrying 64 small satellites as part of the SSO-A SmallSat Express mission; a Soyuz launch which is the first since last rocket broke apart during launch; and finally the OSIRIS-REx arrives at the Bennu Asteroid.  If you need even more space, SpaceX is scheduled to launch its 16th commercial resupply mission (CRS-16) to the ISS Tuesday.

Satisfy your Sweet Tooth

You can throw out your indecisiveness on whether to indulge in your favorite cookie or favorite brownie, because this week you’re getting both baby. Tuesday is National Cookie Day (may we suggest getting some for your favorite coworkers), and Saturday is National Brownie Day (may we also suggest getting some ice cream to top it off).

Games, Games, Games, and the PS Classic

No matter what console you prefer, there’s something for everyone with Just Cause 4, Super Smash Bros., and PUBG all being released this week.  If you want to take a walk down memory lane, or (if you’re younger) a dip into some vintage gaming, the Playstation Classic is getting released this Monday

Mowgli (Netflix Release)

It’s finally here, Andy Serkis’s adaptation of the Jungle Book staring Rohan Chand as the title character is finally getting its release on Netflix.  The NYTimes has a great article (link in the event page) where they interviewed Serkis about the struggles of getting this film made and distributed.

Mary, Queen of Scots out in theaters

Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie star as besties/rivals, Mary Stuart and Queen Elizabeth I.  Mary thinks she's the heir to the throne and tries to overthrow her cousin.  Cue the drama, the trailer looks great and this movie is sure to get a ton of Oscar buzz.

Art Basel Miami

This multi-international art show is heading to Miami Beach this week featuring galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa of work from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well as the new generation of emerging stars.

International Volunteer Day

A wonderful day for volunteers and organizations to share and promote their work in the community.  If you have a great cause you’d like to share, let us know in the event page.
