"Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the LORD is finished correctly."
1Chronicles 28:20

FIRES in Alberta!

BREAKING NEWS...
Seeing the amazing response to the forest fires makes me so proud to be part of a 'family' that loves and cares for each other! As fires burn across the city of Fort McMurray and other places in the province of Alberta, it has been absolutely inspiring to see people take creative action to do anything they can to be the difference! It has been declared the worst disaster in the history of the province and 'the family' has stepped up to respond and take effective action. Thank you Lord for the hearts and love of all your children!
Thank you for your prayers as we continue to imagine that this is the way life is meant to be....helping others despite the circumstances and our differences. IT FEELS LIKE IT TEACHES US that we don't have to wait for a disaster....but to reach out to the stranger, the neighbor, the refugee, the evacuees, the isolated, the needy and see what God can do right in our neighborhoods on a daily basis.
Update: Fusion will be partnering with a team of people to do a festival in the town of Boyle, Alberta on Saturday May 28,  2,500+ people from Fort McMurray are temporarily living in the Boyle area, many in tents and RVs. Pray we bring hope and encouragement as we listen to stories and help people to engage with what life could be like past this tragedy.
Prayer team updates by Ronnene Peppler

The Fusion Prayer Team potlucks continue to bring us together for good food, mutual support, much laughter, and prayer for our many Fusion friends around the world. We meet every second and fourth Wednesday, taking turns at each others homes.

Our dinner discussions range from theology to our love of chocolate cake. This year we were blessed to have two new people join the group —from the Foundations course at Knox Evangelical Free church in Edmonton. We celebrate each others birthdays whenever they fall close to a potluck date. The prayer potlucks are so important to us that they are almost never cancelled.

MAY'S RECOMMENDED BOOK

~The Radical Wesley~

by Howard A. Snyder

According to the author the world needs radical Christianity. This book describes eighteenth-century preacher John Wesley's spiritual journey and then looks at his views on the church and the Christian life in order to help us see what radical faith today would look like.
