APRIL 2017

Resurrection Prayer

Dear God,
Thank you that you make all things new. Thank you for the victory and power in your Name. Thank you that you hold the keys over death, that by your might, Jesus was raised from the grave, paving the way for us to have new life with you. Thank you that you had plan, that you made a way.

We confess our need for you…fresh…new…again. We ask that you renew our hearts, minds, and lives, for the days ahead. We pray for your refreshing over us.

Keep your words of truth planted firm within us, help us to keep focused on what is pure and right, give us the power to be obedient to your word. And when the enemy reminds us where we have been, hissing his lies and attacks our way, we trust that your voice speaks louder and stronger, reminding us we are safe with you and that your purposes and plans will not fail. We ask that you will be our defense and rear guard, keeping our way clear, removing the obstacles, and covering the pitfalls.
Lord, lead us on your level ground.

Shine your light in us, through us, over us. May we make a difference in this world, for your glory and purposes. Set you way before us. May we reflect your peace and hope to a world that so desperately needs your presence and healing.

Thanks be to you God, for your indescribable gift!
To you be glory and honor, on this Resurrection Day, and forever.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

"Mission Possible" with T.J Kruk

All things are possible through Jesus!

Our friend TJ Kruk is going to be in Poland until late June supporting Ela, Reini, Estera and the rest of the Fusion team based in Legnica, Poland.

TJ has been an active member of the Fusion Canada team since 2004 and is known as “TJ the DJ” at our Open Crowd Community Festivals in the Edmonton area. Needless to say we are extremely excited to be part of this next adventure to which God is calling him.

TJ left for Poland on Monday, March 20. He will be supporting a number of youth and community projects that the team there is delivering. He will be helping with kids clubs, English lessons, conversation classes, festivals and day trips, helping at conferences and more.  TJ has been invited to be part of his host's church and home group and we pray that this will be a significant opportunity for him to go deeper into his spiritual life.

Stay tuned for updates on the exploits of TJ and Mountie Bob(TJ's traveling companion).  Mountie Bob is sitting on TJ's birthday cake in the photo above.  This cake was presented to him by the team in Poland. Please keep TJ in your prayers.

Foundations Community Festival
April 8, 2017
Hosting an outdoor festival in Alberta in early April can be a bit of a challenge.  You never know what weather you are going to get!

Last Saturday (April 8) was the Easter Festival at Lion's Park in St. Albert.  It was part of the "Foundations" course that has been held weekly at St. Albert Alliance Church since early February.

As this was the Garvin family's final festival in Canada before they return to Australia in July, it was somehow fitting that we experienced a taste of spring growl.  It was a chilly, cloudy day and the ground was pretty wet from snow melt and recent rains.

But the team persevered!  We estimate 300 people came to be part of the festival, and there was a wonderful spirit of celebration and playfulness.  We are very grateful to the team of volunteers who came with warm hearts and continued to serve the guests with a smile, right to the end.

We had special guests!  Pastor Matty Coppin from "The Fathers House Church" in Bon Accord was the MC, and he brought two members of his youth leadership team, Josh and Mitchell.  The three of them helped to make the day strong.

The Legacy of Fusion West Edmonton
Fusion Canada has not left the building!  Neil Peppler has been one of the core volunteers for our youth and community work in West Edmonton right from the beginning.  Neil helped to envision the rebirth of the Britannia-Youngstown Community skating rink in 2008, and has played a big role there ever since.  While continuing to work full time at a grocery warehouse, Neil gives much of his spare time to the rink year round.

We also want to recognize Barb Busse.  Barb has been the president of the Britannia Youngstown Community League for over 25 years, and has been a huge supporter of the vision of the rink.  Neil and Barb are shown in the photo on the left.

It is wonderful to see that the Britannia Rink continues to be a place where anyone can go to be part of a warm, accepting, safe community.  Thank you, Neil and Barb, for your continued service in bringing a bit of the glory of God to our city.

by Dietrich Bonhoeffer

In Life Together we read about Pastor Bonhoeffer's experience of Christian community. This story of a unique fellowship in an underground seminary during the Nazi years reads like one of Paul's letters. It gives practical advice on how to sustain life together in Christ in families and groups.

Are you interested in gaining a stronger understanding about Fusion's approach to community outreach and development?  Here is a list of some of the books that have become important to us over the years:

  • Please pray for the growing work and team as we launch yearly Foundations rhythms.
  • Prayer of thanks for launch of Foundations Course at St Albert Alliance Church, and upcoming Festival. After only a few weeks we are hearing what an impact the course is having in peoples lives.
  • Pray for Matt and Leeanne as they finish their time here well, and pack up to leave many things behind, looking forward to all that awaits them in Tasmania Australia
  • Prayer of thanks for Week long Foundations Course                 August 6-12, 2017.
  • We are blessed and continue to thank God for His abundant mercy, grace and provision that is abounding.
  • Father bless us as we go
    Jesus walk beside us
    Holy Spirit guide us

We would value your prayers on this exciting journey...
