WBID Services Update

For the month of April, the cleanup crews removed 7 large 35 gallon trash bags of litter from the district.

Now that the weather is becoming nicer, and more people are out and about, the WBID committee has decided to run the crews one more day each week. This ensures that the district will remain litter free consistently throughout the summer. Keep an eye out for the crews on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Banner Fabrication Has Begun!
The West Broadway Business and Area Coalition is excited to announce that we have selected a banner vendor, and the district banners are currently being fabricated. The WBC selected Imaginality Designs, a company that traces its roots back to North Minneapolis, to do the fabrication of the aluminum banners. We expect the banners to be completed and installed by July, just in time for the 10th Anniversary FLOW Northside Arts Crawl.

The four designs (seen above) will be placed on 134 poles through the district.

The WBID Adopts Bus Shelters

The West Broadway Business Improvement District has teamed up with Metro Transit to adopt all of the bus shelters located along West Broadway. By adopting these shelters, the WBID has agreed to have its clean-up crews keep the shelters clean and tidy as well as report any graffiti or vandalism to Metro Transit.

Metro Transit maintains more than 700 shelters in the metro area, and by adopting our shelters along West Broadway, we can make a difference in keeping the community safe and clean.

You're invited to attend the West Broadway Transit Study Open House!

Metro Transit is currently conducting a study to identify and evaluate potential transit improvements along West Broadway. The modes to be evaluated in the study include street car and bus network enhancements including bus rapid transit. The study is expected to conclude in late 2015.

You're invited to attend the May 21 Open House to review the transit plans and to give input on the future direction of the study. The open house will be:

Thursday, May 21st, 5-7pm at North Community YMCA
1711 W Broadway Ave, Minneapolis MN

Almost Here! The West Broadway Farmers Market, FLOW Northside Arts Crawl

The West Broadway Farmers Market is less than one month away. Many of last year's excellent vendors will be back, and our Market Manager, DeVon Nolen is hard at work in bringing in some new vendors to increase the diversity of the items offered at the market. As always, the market will be held in the Hawthorne Crossings parking lot on Friday afternoons, 3-7pm. The first market will be on June 19th, and will run weekly until October 9th.

The 2015 FLOW Northside Arts Crawl marks the events 10 year anniversary, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. Last years event brought activities such as the Broadway Liquor Outlet Beer Garden, the KMOJ Music Stage, and encouraged over 7000 people to visit the West Broadway Business District during the course of the weekend.

These two events put on by the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition are excellent marketing opportunities, and are a huge draw that bring customers to the district. Please consider sponsoring the West Broadway Farmers Market, or perhaps becoming a business participant in this year's FLOW Northside Arts Crawl.
