“I just took a stroll down Broadway during lunch and noticed how clean and trash free the avenue looked” - Nick Campbell, Emerge
December Service Update
Happy New Year! We are winding down in the first year of operation for the WBID. WBC staff and the WBID clean-up crews have made a huge difference in the look and feel of the corridor. Through the first week of December crews have removed over 1214 pounds of litter from the streets.
Additionally, staff has reported over 40 occurrences of other issues such as illegal dumping, burnt out streetlights, graffiti or potholes to the City of Minneapolis for attention.
We have a long way to go in keeping West Broadway looking great, but the WBID is a great tool in setting the tone on how we want the corridor to look and feel.
Lets carry our momentum into 2016!

New sidewalk amenities are coming to West Broadway!
This spring, the West Broadway Commercial Corridor will become more pedestrian friendly and visually appealing. The WBC will be employing community artists to create public infrastructure improvements including benches, planters, new recycling bins, and parklets.
The WBC is still accepting proposals from local creatives for design and fabrication of the amenities to be placed in the right-of-way.
