WBID Services Update
July was a busy month for the West Broadway Business District. The Farmers Market is in full swing, and we also celebrated the 10 year anniversary of FLOW Northside Arts Crawl. Mayor Betsy Hodges also paid the corridor a visit, accompanying the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Julian Castro.
With the extra attention, we wanted to make sure the business district was looking its best. We decided to have the crews out for extra hours. For the month of July, the crews removed 7.5 large bags of litter from the district, and spent an extra 20 hours spraying and trimming weeds. Year-to-date, the WBID Cleanup Crews have removed 856 pounds of litter and debris from the corridor.
At of the end of July, the WBID General Account has a balance of $40,495.32
Holiday Decorations Update
We have just entered into a $55,000 contract with the City of Minneapolis to retrofit a portion of the light poles in the district. This retrofitting will allow us to install illuminated holiday decorations or use the poles in some other electrical capacity. While we wont be able to get the entire district retrofitted this year, the $55,000 was given to us as a grant with the intention that this project will build momentum in persuading the City to assist us in retrofitting the entire district. No WBID assessment money will be used on this particular project.
It is important to note that we are planning on having unlit decorations placed throughout the entire district during this year's holiday season.
The Banners Are Up!
We are excited to announce that the installation of the West Broadway Business District banners is now complete. We would like to thank Imaginality Designs for their excellent job in fabricating the banners, and Custom Products & Services for their excellent coordination and speed in installing the banners.

We look forward to continuing the good work of the WBID, making the experience of the West Broadway commercial corridor enjoyable.
