A native to Sunset Park, Ruben Castillo, has seen the positive change Industry City has had on the surrounding community. He now works at Rich Brilliant Willing, an innovative LED lighting company, designing and manufacturing in house.

Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI) is offering a free 6-week training program that teaches the skills needed to work as a Customer Support Specialist in the tech sector. Participants will become certified in Google Suite and more.

NYU Tandon is launching a prototyping space for Industry City tenants and the broader Sunset Park community at the Veterans Future Lab where entrepreneurs and makers will be able to design and create using high-tech machinery and 3D printers. Last weekend, Industry City and other local businesses participated in bike brklyn, a community fundraiser for bicycle awareness in honor of the 19 bike fatalities this year. All proceeds go to Get Women Cycling; providing the education and support needed to ride safely and keep riding.
