Endurance Sports & Fitness Magazine: Go The Distance
June 10, 2019
In the June issue of Endurance Sports and Fitness Magazine, we were so excited to get content from LIa Sterciuc whose story is both inspiring and heroic. Lia Sterciuc is an accomplished endurance runner living in Seattle, Wash., who’s completed 65 marathons and ultramarathons and 6 Ironman distance races – not bad considering she started running six years ago at 44. Sterciuc grew up in Romania and when she was 21, she and her husband tried to escape communism for a new life in the United States. However, they were caught, beaten and incarcerated. Finally, in 1990 they made it to the United States, but the scars of their dramatic escape would continue to haunt her family. Endurance sports became a way to conquer fears and cope with life’s challenges. Please read her story - and then consider contributing yourself! We all have unique stores. Sterciuc's was so good we merely shaped her content and published the story.

ES&F is Fundraising - Please help!
This year I am completing the Grand Canyon Rim2Rim2Rim. This 44-mile trek is something I am doing in support of Project Athena. I hope you can give to the cause. https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/alix-shutello-1/Grand-Canyon-Adventure-Trek-2019! We have only a little more than $600 to go to reach our fundraising goal!
