E-Newsletter St Mary's & St Michael's Parish of Shalford & Peasmarsh Week beginning 2nd August
Just a short message this week to include more simple links directly from St Mary's Website homepage here for worshipping together online via St Mary's Zoom or St Mary's Youtube Channel - on Wednesdays and Sundays. The same links should work for every Sunday and Wednesday from now on....hopefully! (except for the last 2 weeks in August when St Mary's Online will be off on a littlemini summer break - we'll be off-line for Facebook daily prayers and complines, and Zoom/Youtube Sunday and Wednesday worship in last 2 weeks of August).
This Sunday, the amazing Feeding of the Five Thousand gospel story is read by the amazing Joan, in her 100th year. Thank you Joan! Within our eucharist service we'll explore and experience together: Take, Bless, Break, Give. And this Sunday we will hopefully start to include a blend of recordings within our hybrid worship at home and in person together - if you'd like to participate in reading or any other way in worship, please get in touch (the recording camera loves to travel!)
Our joining together live as one worshipping community continues as 3 in 1 ways to worship together! In person with face masks in St Mary’s church building 9.30am, or online at home via St Mary’s zoom, or St Mary's youtube. If you are worshipping from home and are able, and particularly if you are local, do worship live at 9.30am via St Mary's Zoom (click link on website) - you can remain invisible if you wish to other zoomers! and even drop in or out ½ way through! It's a chance to join, and participate via the written chat function, together with others as a worshipping community, and at the end of the service just stay on to chat to others also at home or in the church building. For those further afield or unable to join live, St Mary’s Youtube Channel is live-streaming every Sunday and Wednesday - just go to St Mary's Youtube Channel page or via St Mary's website link, and hopefully you can join live or later there.

Sally is hoping to open a St Mary's 'branch' of her successful outdoor, free to take & donate, book library (first branch is in Somersbury Way). If you have a wooden cupboard, or you're a carpenter/crafty wood worker, and able to donate/make a cupboard such as this to stand somewhere in St Mary's churchyard for all passers by, please get in touch with Sally Schupke
News Update: St Mary's Churchyard Wall Repair
Works will begin on c. 3rd August and likely to continue for up to 16 weeks, with road lane closure for a short time within this. Please be sure not to interrupt the stonemasons as they work, or get too close to the works any other time for health and safety reasons. The works are being paid for and managed through Shalford Parish Council, but if you have any questions or concerns along the way do contact Sally, Churchwarden, or Rev Sarah, and they'll pass messages on to SPC.
Two great venues - open for all. Please spread the word far and wide that both St Mary's Church Shalford and St Michael's Village Hall Peasmarsh, are open for bookings again for the coming months
GIVING TO ST MARY'S
Please just click on the big blue button below (or the one on St Mary's website) if you would like to donate an offering to St Mary's church - life, ministry, serving community. The buttons will take you directly to our Shalford Parish church Justgiving site for one-off or regular online donations, where we can also receive gift aid. If you would like to discuss setting up regular giving through direct debit and the Parish Giving Scheme, please contact Ann Thomas. Thank you so much for your support at this difficult time.
