Hi <<First Name>>,

"Indigenous peoples believe that our ancestors literally stand behind us to support us in our life dream and purpose; they believe that the male ancestors stand behind us

on our right, the great grandfather, the grandfather, the father, the uncle, the brother, the teacher, the lover, the mate,

and our female image stands behind us on the left the great grandmother, the grandmother, the mother, the sister, the aunt, the teacher, the lover, the mate

they stand behind us saying, oh, maybe this one will be the one to bring forward the good true, and beautiful for all the past generations and the generations to come

oh, maybe this one will be the one who will break the harmful family patterns and the harmful cultural patterns will maybe this one will be the one

and we are the one."
- Angeles Arrien

Tribes are described as a group of people tied together by kinship relations, and they have a strong connection with the place they live in. They are usually separated from mainstream society.

Members of a tribe may not know about their ancestral history, but they are united by and share certain beliefs, traditions, or symbolic bonds.

We will go back further into our lineage in this Wednesday's class and call in our Ancestors' tribes.

Whether you are participating in our weekly Ancestors series classes or not, I invite you to look up your lineage and see what your ancestors' tribes are called. Look for the tribes indigenous to your heritage. There are many tribes of Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas. See what the tribe names that stand out and resonate with you. Trust your sense of intuition.

Learning more about our tribes reconnects us to our roots and awakens us to a sense of belonging.

With Love,
Sylvie and the SDP Team

WHAT'S NEW AND EXCITING
Tribal imageJoin Sylvie Minot for a virtual 6-week virtual 5Rhythms Ancestors series via Zoom Wednesdays from October 6th to November 10th, 2021, at 7:30-9:00 pm pst. You can attend the entire series or individual classes.

This 5Rhythms series will explore our often unconscious family/ancestral patterns with ways to shift and release them.

Through dance, movement, voice/sound, and guided group exercises, we will use each of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—to honor our past and create new pathways for healing.

5Rhythms Ancestors is accessible to anyone interested in transformation through movement and offers an opportunity to tap into the generations of wisdom that live deep within us. For those patrons who participate in the SDP monthly membership program, you can participate in this 6-week series for free.
