This past week, a few unexpected moments manifested themselves and I was forced to quickly change direction. I have also heard from many of you that it has been a challenging week.

I am reminded that disruptive events happen to all of us (those of you who attended last Wednesday’s 5Rhythms Sweat Your Prayers class saw this firsthand). Thank you for your patience. In these moments, I pause, take a deep breath, feel my feet, and take in the next moment.

This Wednesday, I will lead another Sweat Your Prayers 5Rhythms practice with no words--only prayer.

Sweat Your Prayers® is a gathering where we bring our individual 5Rhythms® practice and move through the rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness with intention and in community.

PS. For Wednesday's Sweat Your Prayers class, no dance experience is needed. Beginners are always welcome. Come join us!

Even though we love seeing your face, you don't have to attend class via video. When the Zoom window launches, you can choose to listen to the class audio-only. It's another beautiful way to experience our Wednesday class!

The Wednesday evening class begins at 7:30 PM PST and ends at 9:00 PM PST. The Zoom Class Waiting Room will open at 7:20 PM PST. The class offers the following schedule:
  • 7:30 - 9:00 PM PST - Warm-up and a brief chat, then Sweat Your Prayers where we move through the dance meditation.

Thank you from Sylvie MinotAs we move into the final three months of the year, I want you to know it's been 17 years filled with many wonderful Wednesday evening dances.

We have created such beautiful magic together.

I cannot begin to thank you enough, and I am sincerely grateful.

After much thought and careful deliberation, I've decided that this fall is the best time to wrap up the regular Wednesday evening 5Rhythms & Beyond class. After 17 years of teaching weekly 5Rhythms classes, I am ready for a change in the format.

I will close out the year with 5Rhythms classes on September 29th followed by a 6-week Wednesday 5Rhythms and Ancestors series from October 6th - November 10th, 7:30 - 9:00 pm PST. After November 10th, I will discontinue the regular Wednesday evening 5Rhythm & Beyond classes.

Once a month, I will have a Sweat Your Prayers on the second Saturday--both in person and on Zoom. In the new year, I will continue the monthly Sweat Your Prayers classes and intermittently teach different 6-week 5Rhythms series.

Monthly SDP members will have free access to the SweatYour Prayers classes and the upcoming Ancestors series with a significant discount on future workshops. We will continue developing and expanding the online audio and video class collection at SyzygyDanceProject.  

We have traveled this dancing journey together through the pandemic, and I have enjoyed dancing with you virtually connecting through each other's homes across the country and the globe. I'm grateful for you, and I will always cherish this historic time spent dancing with you via Zoom and in person.

I also want to acknowledge the people who have volunteered their time to help make the weekly classes possible. A special thank you to Ann Jackson, Heather Smith, Sandi Esquivel, Tina Valentine, Monica Mody, Jim Homa, Kamala Tully, Dani Worth, Emily Randall, and Catherine Hughes.

WHATS NEW AND EXCITING
Ancestors link Join Sylvie Minot for a virtual 6-week virtual 5Rhythms Ancestors series via Zoom Wednesdays from October 6th to November 10th, 2021, at 7:30-9:00 pm pst.

This 5Rhythms series will explore our often unconscious family/ancestral patterns with ways to shift and release them.

Through dance, movement, voice/sound, and guided group exercises, we will use each of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—to honor our past and create new pathways for healing.

5Rhythms Ancestors is accessible to anyone interested in transformation through movement and offers an opportunity to tap into the generations of wisdom that live deep within us. For those patrons who participate in the SDP monthly membership program, you can participate in this 6-week series for free.
