As we reflect on the past year, we have witnessed countless times God has moved in the hearts of his people all over Vermilion County and beyond to establish Her House.

In February, we learned of an opportunity to have a 3,500 square foot home donated to Her House at 304 N. Franklin Street in Danville. After a few months of negotiations, the house was officially donated to us! Now we are currently in the dreaming stage of what God has planned for this home.

Upon receiving this home, we had a massive project to paint boards and cover all the windows. YOU stepped up to donate your time and resources and we were able to complete this project in just two days! Since then, we’ve had neighbors watch over this home. What a joy to know it is being cared for even before we occupy it.

God wasn’t done there. As if one home wasn’t enough, God opened the door for ANOTHER home, RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET at 317 N. Franklin. This home was previously a group home and had been vacant for some time. When we toured the home, we knew that this was the starting place of our ministry. It was perfect and move-in-ready. Over the past few months, our volunteers have been sacrificially giving their time to Her House to open our doors soon for the displaced or homeless pregnant women of Vermilion County.

As of December 21, we have raised over $12,000 of our $50,000 goal to open in January of 2017.This goal is to ensure all of our finances would be covered for the year 2017. We have been astounded at the positive response of local businesses and donors who have made it possible for us to reach the $12,000 thus far.

One of the Local Businesses, Invenergy in Fithian, IL, presented Her House with a substantial end-of-the-year donation.

A big thank you to Matt Wingler and Heather Cottingham for helping invest in the lives of women and their children!

We would like to reach $20,000 by the end of the year. We can’t do that without you.

Here are a few ways you can help:

  • Prayerfully consider giving an end-of-the-year gift to Her House.
  • Ask your employer to give an end-of-the-year gift to Her House or to match a donation.
  • Spread the word of our financial need to friends and family.
  • Pray, Pray, Pray!
