COVID-19 Vaccine for Children 6 months to 5 years

 

TBDHU Clinics

  • TBDHU continues to offer vaccine to this cohort.
  • In addition to first and second dose appointments at TBDHU led community clinics available for booking through the COVID-19 vaccination portal or the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre (1-833-943-3900), additional appointments will be available at the Balmoral Street office and can be booked by calling 625-5900.
  • Dates are available at TBDHU.COM/covidclinics. These clinics are “kid friendly” clinics with private spaces for breastfeeding.
  • TBDHU will also offer vaccine to this age group at the CLE Coliseum clinic during operational hours as well as select community clinics; see TBDHU.COM/covidclinics for details.

Data Entry for Primary Care Providers

  • TBDHU will provide data entry support primary care providers who administer vaccine to this age group (6 months to under 5 years).
  • Primary care providers will need to provide documentation to TBDHU for entry into COVaxON including the appropriate consent for each patient as well as completed COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Daily Metrics form.
  • Vaccine can be ordered from TBDHU.
  • Contact vaccineinventory@tbdhu.com to receive a detailed email including process and links to all required forms.

COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters Children 5 to 11 Years

  • Children 5 to 11 years are eligible to schedule their booster dose if at least six months have passed since the completion of their primary series. Effective September 1, 2022.

COVID-19 Updated Self-Isolation Guidance

  •  TBDHU.COM has been updated to reflect the new guidance announced on August 31, 2022:
  • The provincial guidance website has not yet been updated. Once updated, links to the page will be provided from TBDHU.COM
  • The provincial online self-assessment tool has been updated and will provide recommendations based on the information provided
  • In general, those with symptoms will be required to self-isolate until they have no fever and their symptoms have been improving for more than 24 hours (48 hours if gastrointestinal); mask wearing for 10 days from onset of symptoms or positive test resultis recommended.
  • Additional details as well as recommendations for those living or working within a highest risk setting (acute care, congregate living settings such as long term care, retirement homes, group homes, etc) can be found in the updated Management of Cases and Contacts of COVID-19 in Ontario, updated most recently on August 31, 2022.
