Covid-19, Cyclone Harold, earthquakes and beyond........
We will not be meeting together this month.

Would you please pray for these

prayer points during May.

Please pray for the Medical Santo team as they assist with the care of people in Northern Vanuatu who have lost their homes in cyclone Harold.

We thank God that the Covid-19 virus has not entered Vanuatu.
Judith and John our gardner just up the road from the clinic.
Please give thanks for the opportunities that Medical Santo has to contribute to the care and support of the thousands of people in Northern Vanuatu who are shocked, hurting and feel lost.  Many have lost their home and possessions.

Pray that the cyclone relief will get to the people in need of shelter, food and other aid.

Pray that there will be no major outbreaks of sickness during this time of limited clean water and hygiene goods.

Pray that the small outbreaks of Dengue and Malaria will not spread.
Judith went with a team to South Santo and provided medical care and attention to the community.
Please pray for the health and strength of our clinic staff as they deal with patients who have the flu, cuts, abrasions and issues related to contaminated water, lack of food and the aftermath of Cyclone Harold.

Some staff lost their homes completely and others their homes have been damaged.  There has been continous torrential rain storms in the last 4 weeks and it is difficult to keep dry.

Some of our staff are living in our Medical Santo volunteer accommodation buildings and we have been providing some food to help them get through these first few weeks.

Pray that God will stop the rain for a while to let people get shelters built and for everything to dry out.

We give God thanks that the town water supply was restored after three days.

Pray for the safety of all as they continue the clean up, finding their roofing iron, construct new walls, fit rooves and give their families cover from the heat and the rain.

We thank God for the safety of Judith and Lyn who were living upstairs in the clinic as Cyclone Harold went over.   There was only minor damage to the clinic and our other accommodation buildings with water getting into most floors.

We thank God for the many amazing work teams over the last 7 years who have built walls, fitted doors, windows and hoods, constructed and replaced rooves and fitted solar panels and signs.  Everything stayed intact except a few gutters and some fences knocked down by falling trees.
Our Community Based Rehabilitation team have been checking on many people living with a disability since Cyclone Harold.
We thank God for Charlie and Jeremy.  Charlie, a solar electrician who came up from Vila together with support from Jeremy in Brisbane, spent a day fixing some issues with our solar system so the clinic did not have to run the generator 24/7.

Please pray that our solar and generator will continue to work until the local grid power is restored.  The town is slowly lighting up again but it is a huge task and we pray that the workers stay safe and well as they work long hours to reinstate power to the community.
Please ask God to give wisdom and guidance to the newly elected Vanuatu Government MP's as they deal with keeping the Covid-19 virus out of the country and assist the thousands of people affected by Cyclone Harold.

Vanuatu is the most disaster prone country in the world.  Please pray for the people as they deal with the many issues that are severely affecting their families.

We thank God for each and every person who have prayed and provided support to Medical Santo.

This has allowed us to provide care, support and some material goods to the many in desperate need.

Thank you.
Before and after.
Jane and Judith going to John our gardners house.
John with his wife and grandchildren.
He put blocks and bags of sand onto his roof and it stayed!
He lost his cook house and all his garden.

Pray that God will guide us through this pandemic, the rebuild of Northern Vanuatu and show us the opportunities we each have to help and assist others less fortunate.

We will be looking for Doctors, Nurses, Dentists, Paramedics, Optometrists and Midwives when the world gets back to some normality.
We also require handy people for general maintenance
