Manage your wealth, whatever little remains...🤑 (1/3)
Rohit Sarin, the co-founder of Client Associates, went "live" on our platform and broke down wealth management during COVID times. Some jargon-free tips:

"SARS lasted for about six months, starting from late 2002 till the second quarter of 2003. SARS was not spreading too fast, but the mortality rate was high, approximately 9.6%. In the case of COVID-19, it spreads very fast; however, the mortality rate is much lower. Due to this, the recovery of the economy during COVID-19 will be slower and take longer."

Vaccination: With each passing day, we are closer to the COVID-19 vaccines, and this should be kept in mind when looking into investing again. You would want to be in the market before the vaccination comes out because the minute it launches,
the markets will flood.

The risk of being in the market is there, but it’s still lower than being out of the market.” You can hear his podcast here

Oil be there for you...  (2/3)
Everyone knows...for the first time in history, oil prices went negative on Monday, the 20th of April. Sellers were actually paying buyers to take the stuff off their hands.

What does this mean? There is too much oil and not any buyers or demand. This could mean a win for the clean energy sector as a stimulus method.

Indian crude oil? India imports 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil each year. The Indian Basket, a weighted average of Oman, Dubai, Brent Crude - is an indicator of the price of Indian crude oil imports. It is currently at USD 20.56 per barrel

💲Dollar to Oil effect: Countries that buy crude oil and those that produce it exchange USD in a system called the
petrodollar system. There's normally an inverse relationship between the value of the dollar and commodity prices like oil. The primary reason the value of the dollar influences commodities prices is that the dollar is the benchmark pricing mechanism. U.S. currency is the reserve currency of the world.

So, if India buys oil during this period, it could save a few bucks but a weaker Indian currency (if oil prices keep dropping) will ensure that it spends comparatively more in the long term. The rupee is currently trading at 75.68 per US dollar

For now, India is locked and geared and has started filling up its oil reserves. India has three strategic petroleum reserves at Vizag (1.3 million tonnes), Mangalore (1.5 million tonnes) and Padur (2.5 million tonnes). At full capacity of 5.33 million tonnes, these can provide fuel security for nine days.
Try, try until you succeed...(3/3)
23rd April 2020: University of Oxford researchers began testing a COVID-19 vaccine in human volunteers in Oxford. Around 1,110 people will take part in the trial, half receiving the vaccine and the other half (the control group) receiving a widely available meningitis vaccine

According to our quick counting skills, we are in '
Day 12since the first volunteer in Oxford has been given the vaccine. ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 is made from a virus (ChAdOx1), which is a weakened version of a common cold virus (adenovirus) that causes infections in chimpanzees, that has been genetically changed so that it is impossible for it to grow in humans.

Participants have been given an E-diary to record any and all symptoms. "Dear Diary, today I feel good. Winning."

This is the sixth coronavirus vaccine to enter the first phase of clinical trials, raising hopes of an antidote against the virus that continues to ravage the world.
