Bridging Gaps: Higher Education, Media and Society

There are just over two weeks left before the 7th international CMCS conference Bridging Gaps: Where is Ethical Glamour in Celebrity Culture? in Lisbon on July 1-3.

Join Luis Fernando Romo for an exclusive workshop on celebrity journalism and media / public relations on the opening day. We are also excited for our Day 2 workshop on celebrity glamour with Pamela Wunderlich.

Information on the workshops and learning outcomes can be found here:
http://cmc-centre.com/workshops/2018workshop/

Special thanks to our keynotes Kirsty Fairclough and Elliot Pill and organizing committee members Ana Jorge, Nicole Bojko, and Kiera Obbard for this much-awaited conference.

The latest publication information from Celebrity Studies journal (Routledge. Taylor and Francis) will be available at the conference along with WaterHill Publishing’s books, including its latest title Personas and Places: Negotiating Myths, Stereotypes and National Identities

Personas and Places is based on the best research papers presented at our 2017 conference at the University of Western Australia in Perth. Many thanks to keynote Sean Redmond for his foreword and to the editors Jackie Raphael and Celia Lam for their excellent work in assembling this collection.

Have a wonderful end to June and see you in Lisbon next month!

Sincerely,
Samita Nandy @famecritic
