August 2016 Newsletter!
Greetings MaSHers and friends!
The July summary was thin, so I skipped it – you didn’t miss a message. Thank you again to Iron Springs for hosting the MaSH July meeting. It was a neat location and nice peek into some of the upcoming workings at the brewery. The Saison was excellent as was my sandwich.
The quarterly style is Hefeweizen/American Wheat! Thank you to Eric for an excellent presentation. There was a handout and if possible I will post an electronic copy up on the site – I can scan the one I have or will just put the source up.
In terms of club news and events there are a few updates. First off is to expect an email from Jim Files, if it hasn’t gone out already, regarding the NCHF. There are currently 3 members signed up to go and we will be hosting a booth! Details and highlights will be provided by Jim and feel free to reach out to him directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Second is there is an AHA rally at Heretic Brewing Co. on Oct. 29th. Information here at the AHA. Please be sure to RSVP at both the AHA site and our site if you can go. Historically MaSH has gotten a bus to take us to the event and I will reach out to Northbay Brewery Tours to see if they will be willing to take us again. The club has paid for part of the bus to subsidize cost to members and I would like to do that again. You do need to be an AHA member to attend the rally. They are well worth it and so is the membership if you aren’t already signed up. There is a wort giveaway again this year to the first 200 to RSVP so keep a keg free for transport home. Last year they gave out yeast as well so it was essentially a free batch. Please use the Club RSVP so I have a headcount for the bus company!
Third is there will be no homebrew at the Marinwood Brewfest this year. Maybe next year or I’m told potentially a homebrew only event. We’ll see what happens and I’ll update the club if I hear anything.
This month we will be meeting at J&M, the meeting is next week on the 17th from 7-9 PM.
