June 2016 Summary!

Greetings MaSHers!

First off I want to congratulate Ron on winning the Quarterly Style competition! That is two in a row, an impressive feat that should motivate the rest of us. What this means club members is leave your mango at home for the next quarter – Ron needs to be dethroned.  We can’t have 3 in a row. Seriously though it was a very nice brew Ron, keep it up.  Also great job by Steve and Bill for their second and third finishes!  It was a close competition picking out those top 3.

This leads us to what is naturally on everybody’s mind - Damien, what’s the next style of the quarter? Fortunately I don’t have to decide, but you all do.  Ron has passed on choosing the style and the officers have decided to leave it up to popular vote.  We have narrowed it down to “lawnmower” beer.  This is any summer brew you enjoy on a warm CA day, especially after some time outdoors.  This encompasses a rather large range of brews so we’ve grouped similar beers together and put them on this survey page.  Cast your vote now!

Guess what still isn’t over, the county fair!  Good news on this front though, this year’s winners (excluding best of show) have been posted on the site.  Check out the blog or just use this link to get there right quick - the right quick link. Congratulations to all the winners!

(READ THIS if nothing else) The July Meeting will be held on Thursday July 21st from 7-9 at Iron Springs brewery in Fairfax.  This is the same week as meetings usually are (the one containing the third Wednesday of the month) but it’s a different day.  They have bands on Wednesday so we are taking the Thursday spot.  A very big thank you goes to Dave Pickford for helping to organize this with the Iron Springs owners and a huge thank you to Iron Springs for hosting us!  I’m looking forward to this meeting, it should be great. We can bring samples to share just like every other meeting.
Important items to note:

  • The Northern California Homebrew festival is in September but sign-up is in July.  The club can sponsor a tent if there is enough club interest.  More details here http://www.nchfinfo.org/.  Please let me know if interested.
  • For anyone new who is planning to pay membership but waiting for the next quarter I have already updated the Payment button.  You can pay now at Q3 prices using the button below.

Expect the July Newsletter soon!

Bottom's Up,
Damien
