PyOhio Needs Your Help!

PyOhio is a community event and we need the help of the community to make it happen every year. Some ways you can help right now:

Sponsor! If you work for a company that uses Python or know one that would benefit from additional positive exposure to the Python community please ask them if they'll consider sponsoring. One of the new sponsor benefits this year is posting job listings on or website. Prospectus and info is on the site.
Submit a talk or tutorial proposal! We really want to hear from you. Details below.
Review proposals! If you're planning on attending PyOhio then you're a perfect candidate for helping select the sessions. Volunteer to review submissions. Instructions here.

Sign-ups for on-site volunteers and individual sponsorships / donations will be available as we get closer to the event. Details will be in later emails.

CFP Open Now

The PyOhio 2018 CFP is now open! We're looking for sessions on all topics of interest to the Python community (not just "pure programming!"):

Talks (30-min w/ some 45-min)
Tutorials / Workshops (120-min)

Call for Proposals

The proposal deadline is 11:59:59pm ET on May 15, 2018. While you have until then to submit a proposal, submitting earlier will allow time for feedback and revision — the earlier you submit the better chance you have of getting valuable feedback!

Speaker Mentoring

PyOhio wants a mix of first-time and experienced speakers!

If you have questions about the CFP process or would like some help with your proposal or talk preparation you should ask to be paired with a mentor: Request a mentor here!

If you have experience speaking at conferences and would like to help someone with their proposal and/or preparation, volunteer to be a mentor.
