Friday FuPy (MicroPython on FPGAs) Hackfest

Carl Karston of Next Day Video, our video recording service, is going to be hosting a FuPy (MicroPython on FPGAs) Hackfest from 10am to 8pm on Friday, Jul 26 in Columbus. All PyOhio attendees are welcome! From Carl:

"The hackfest will be focused on introducing people to porting and running MicroPython to a variety of micro controllers, including soft cores running on low end FPGAs that run an Open Source tool chain.

This will be suitable for users, developers and anyone curious. We will have hardware available to play with for anyone who shows up with a laptop and a Github account."

Hackfest Details & RSVP

Last Call for T-shirt orders!

Some reminders about t-shirts:
  • Because PyOhio is free to attend we use t-shirt sales as a fundraiser
  • Shirts are available for pre-order for a minimum donation of $35 through Jul 1
  • You must pick your shirt up in person. We do not have the capacity to ship them
  • A limited number of shirts will be available on site for a minimum donation of $40
  • Shirts not picked up by Sunday afternoon will be re-sold
  • The shirts to not have any sponsor logos
  • They're available in two styles, detailed on the registration page

Sponsors Still Needed!

Here's the deal: We're about $8k short on sponsorship this year and will have to start thinking about making cuts if we can't close the gap. You can help by asking your employer to sponsor. It's a great way to get in front of 500+ attendees!

Our levels are far less per attendee than most other conferences. Examples:
  • For $3000 you can be the lanyard sponsor and have your logo worn by every single attendee!
  • If that's too much, for just 1k you get a program advertisement, handouts in bag, and web logo.

If your employer won't sponsor but you can afford it, please consider becoming an Individual Sponsor. We know not everyone can afford to go to confs so we keep registration FREE but actual cost is ~$65/person. You can be an individual sponsor for $50+:

Hotels

We do not have an official hotel block this year. There are many hotels within 5 miles of the venue. We've heard they're starting to fill so be sure to book as soon as you can!
